In your excellent editorial in a recent issue there appears a reference to "the 'willed' paradise of the Christian Scientist." Christian Science teaches that true harmony can be reached only by surrendering selfish human will and desire, and by accepting, instead, the divine will; that such divine will operates as unchangeable law, on which the Science of life or true being is based. The Science or knowledge of divine law is admittedly not attained, nor invoked, by human will-power, but by understanding and by living in obedience thereto. An understanding, even is a small degree, of divine law as taught in Christian Science and applied to human problems, has already worked wonders for faithful adherents. "Science," declared Mrs. Eddy, "is an emanation of divine Mind, and is alone able to interpret God aright. It has a spiritual, and not a material origin. It is a divine utterance,—the Comforter which leadeth into all truth." (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 127.)
