Notes from the Publishing House

An Offer

On January 7, 1909, Mrs. Eddy announced:

"Christian Scientists in the field who send four subscriptions to the Monitor for one year, will receive their own paper gratuitously."

This notice was published in the next issue of the Christian Science Sentinel (Vol. XI, No. 19), and as our Leader never withdrew the offer it is still in effect.

This encouragement of individual effort—without aggression, coercion, or undue persuasion—to increase the circulation of The Christian Science Monitor, is again brought to the attention of the field in order that those giving of their time in behalf of our daily newspaper may receive what would be, in effect, a reward commensurate with the discount allowed Reading Rooms for a similar service.

To assist those desiring to avail themselves of this offer, special booklets containing four subscription coupons and an application for the gratuitous subscription have been prepared. They may be had upon application to the Publishing Society.
