I came into Christian Science a complete wreck, afraid to eat, sleep, or talk to anyone. I felt divinely led to this wonderful truth. One day, when my need seemed greatest, I read a reply written by the Committee on Publication in a local newspaper. The truth stated therein so convinced me that the next day I consulted a practitioner.

I shall never forget that day. The most comforting words I had ever heard about God were told me. Treatment was at once commenced, and many of my ills rapidly disappeared. An abscessed condition of the gums was that day permanently healed. The smoking habit of eighteen years' duration was lost, never to return. I rejoice to have overcome later a most violent temper and disagreeable disposition. Fear of death at this time was causing me terrible mental anguish and physical weakness. I rejoice that these have been overcome in a very marked degree. Many times did I go back to deep waters, but I always found the extended hand of the practitioner ever ready to help me and show me the way back to God. After reading what our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says about morbid cravings, I lost all desire to drink tea.

To mortal sense some healings have been slow, but they have all been experiences enriching me spiritually, each victory giving me greater insight into the tenderness and deep things of God. Many healings have occurred in my home with other members of my family. I am deeply grateful for the spiritual uplifting and the transforming power of Truth, and a more enlightened understanding that the battle I have been fighting is not mine, but God's. Practitioners and other Christian Scientists who were ever ready with God's Word to help me, will always be remembered with an abiding gratitude. The periodicals, Reading Room, church services, testimony meetings, and lectures have all contributed a great deal towards my healings.
