In your last issue it was reported that a clergyman had stated it had been said by one of Mrs. Eddy's followers that she must have spent her last days in error! Allow me to say that no follower of her teachings has ever made this statement. The history of Christian Science since its discovery has been such as to reveal to those having ears to hear that the Leader of this great movement has brought to the world, through her consecrated and pure life, a revelation of Truth which is destined to transform and uplift all who understand its import. She has given to mankind such an apprehension of the teachings and works of the Saviour, Christ Jesus, as to bring a benediction, an outpouring of blessings, to the whole world.
No slander, abuse, malice, or any such agent of the carnal mind can succeed in its attempts to vilify and misrepresent a woman of such undoubted purity as Mary Baker Eddy, who, through her life of selfless goodness, was enabled to touch and handle highest inspiration, whereby the sacred teachings of Christ, the Son of God, are again brought into daylight with "signs following," causing humanity to look up and away from the limitations of a false material sense of life, and to understand the "things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world." The movement she founded is going forward with increasing rapidity; and why? Because through its teachings the Christ is being understood, the sick healed, and the sinning reformed. This is the outcome of the pure life of that great and good woman.
