Among the Churches

Current Notes

Mountain Lakes, New Jersey (First Church).—As a result of the borough's purchase of the Christian Science church property on the southwest corner of Briarcliff Road and Boulevard West, a readjustment is effected which most aptly creates a mutual accommodation. All speed ahead was made in alterations of the Anderson thirteen-room residence, directly north across the Boulevard from its original place of worship, which the Christian Scientists have bought. They have turned the lower floor into an auditorium, with capacity of nearly two hundred people, or double the capacity they have heretofore had. There is a commodious foyer from which stairs lead to the eight rooms above, which provide for Sunday school classrooms, church committee rooms, Reading Room, and offices. Altogether, with double the ground area, most beautifully located, the church folks are very grateful for what they regard as amplified means of doing all the good they can, as they understand and interpret good service to a community. Their activities have been constantly broadening, and needless to say, a new edifice, befitting the Christian Science spirit of growth and progress, will not be long in coming into construction on the new premises.—Mountain Lakes News.
