Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness,...

"Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!"

So many wonderful experiences have come to my young son and to me in Christian Science that it seems difficult to know what to mention first. Christian Science has healed my son of constipation, frequent attacks of tonsillitis and bronchitis, the effects of severe injuries, and hernia. On one occasion, over six years ago, he was wonderfully protected. When riding a bicycle he ran into an automobile, but escaped entirely unhurt except for a bruise on one cheek, and that disappeared within two hours. I had been studying very earnestly that afternoon, and about the time the child started on his ride I commenced to prepare dinner. For a few moments my thought seemed to wander; then the "still small voice" said: What do you mean by letting your thought wander this way? Get busy and know the truth. There was no sense of fear or anxiety, just the consciousness that I must be about the Father's business. So while my hands were busy preparing the meal, my thought was very busy with the Word of God, which "is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword."

A few moments later the child came in, breathlessly asking me not to blame our delivery boy, with whom he had been riding. The latter, very pale and much worried, asked if the child had been badly hurt. I assured him that there was nothing to worry about, that the child was perfectly sound, and asked him not to mention the incident to anyone. He was much relieved. After he had gone my son said: "Mother, it is strange. I was not even knowing the truth." Then I told him how God's angel had come to warn me, and how busy I had been obeying the "still small voice." Needless to say, we were very grateful.
