Before I knew of Christian Science I suffered from eczema...
Before I knew of Christian Science I suffered from eczema and was treated by a doctor for a long time without making any progress. Then I saw a notice in a chemist's shop of a certain "cure" for eczema. This treatment was also followed for a long time. The cost was great, but no progress was made. I had a good wife, who was always trying to find out where truth was taught. She said to me: "Why not try Christian Science? I have been to the services, and think they are very good." After some persuasion I went to the Christian Science church, but found that to change one's life from one form of teaching to another is to take a long stride. I was like a sinking man, having too much of the old man and not enough of the new. After having my eyes opened by attending the services, I asked for treatment. The healing was slow; but after some time I saw an improvement, and the complaint faded away. What was there left for me to do but to return sincere gratitude to God for the blessing He had bestowed on me? I am also grateful to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for the information she has given us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
I should like to speak of one more convincing proof. One hot summer day, while taking a walk, I was seized with violent pain, and had a hard struggle to get home. When I told my daughter of my suffering she brought me Science and Health. After I had read a page and a half the pain suddenly vanished, to my great surprise. Christian Science has been my constant help for twenty years, and now at the age of eighty-seven I have much to be thankful for.
