I am very grateful that through the wonderful teaching which Mrs. Eddy has given to us in Christian Science I have learned to understand that God, infinite divine Mind, Life, Truth, Love, is the only power and presence. Among the many mental and physical blessings which have come to me through Christian Science I should like to tell of one healing which I experienced.

Since early childhood I had suffered from a condition which not only seemed to be incurable, but had often put me in unpleasant situations by attracting other people's attention to my especial difficulty. Physicians could not tell me what the trouble was. Although I had been studying Christian Science diligently for a number of years, and had asked for treatment in Christian Science twice to free me from this condition, the improvement was only temporary, and the condition always returned with all its accompanying symptoms.

Finally the problem of the delay in my complete healing was solved; for the obstacles to this healing were shown to be in my own consciousness. I not only learned to eliminate from consciousness selfish, ambitious, and fearful thoughts, but also learned to understand more clearly the great importance of the rule our great Leader has given us in Article VIII, Section 6, of the Manual, namely, to protect one's self daily against aggressive mental suggestion. I am so happy to say that this recognition enabled me to lay aside much that was unlike God and so advance in the demonstration of Christian Science.
