The Psalmist sang, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." It is with a grateful heart that I testify that through the understanding of God as revealed in Christian Science our sins are forgiven and our diseases are healed.
My first healing through Christian Science was about fourteen years ago. At that time I was suffering from a complication of diseases. I had submitted to several surgical operations, and finally developed what was pronounced by several physicians to be tuberculosis. I had spent the greater part of two years in bed. Finally one of the physicians who had been treating my case asked me to try Christian Science, telling me that he had seen many remarkable cures through this treatment, and adding that it was the only hope I had for getting well. A practitioner was asked for help that evening, and the following morning I was dressed and taken to her home. As I was living in a hotel at the time, she very kindly invited me to remain in her home, and within two weeks I was completely healed.
But the physical healing, although greatly appreciated, did not compare with the spiritual uplift, the happiness, peace, and joy experienced. A sense of sorrow and separation was healed, and I began to see through the study of Mrs. Eddy's writings, together with the Bible, that as God's child all good was mine for the acceptance. Since that time there have been many trials, for there were many "iniquities" to be forgiven; but in every instance, when the understanding of God as divine, ever present Love has been faithfully and prayerfully applied, it has been proved that, in the words of a well-loved hymn, "My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply."
