In grateful acknowledgment of the many benefits received...
In grateful acknowledgment of the many benefits received through the study of Christian Science, I wish to submit this testimony.
Throughout the Bible, thought often recurs to the passage of the children of Israel through the Red Sea. Many writers in turn looked back upon, and gave thanks to God for, this wonderful proof of His omnipotent protection and care. Many Christian Scientists have had experiences that have proved to them, at the outset of their passage from sense to Soul, that God is an ever present help, to whom "all things are possible," as the passage through the sea proved to the Israelites. For all such experiences related in testimonies, both verbal and written, I wish to express my gratitude. Often I have found much needed humility through listening to, or reading of, the experiences of others and of their praise for our loving Father-Mother, God.
I in turn should like to give expression to my gratitude to God, to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Since a little child I have known no physician but God; consequently, I have been greatly protected throughout my life. It was not, though, until I was separated from home and friends, that I was forced to begin the earnest study that is teaching me the way "out of darkness into his marvellous light." Although the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy had been read before in connection with the Christian Science Quarterly Bible Lessons, I found that it was necessary to strive for the truth of being, and that the study of the Bible and of all the writings of our Leader was essential to progress.
