I should like to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science...
I should like to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science and all its activities. I came to it a number of years ago for physical healing and received it, but when about to use it for the children, fear crept in and I turned back to materia medica. Over four years ago, however, materia medica failed us entirely, and again I turned to Christian Science. The erroneous condition was quickly met, and the fear of the inadequacy of Christian Science to meet human needs fled. Since then, Christian Science has been put to many severe tests in our home. A relative, while visiting us, had diphtheria. She did not believe in Christian Science, so a doctor was called. During this time two members of our family were almost instantaneously healed of the same disease, and the other remaining two were fully protected. No antitoxin was given, for we knew divine Love possessed all power and means of protection. Scarlet fever, blood poisoning, whooping cough, earache, toothache, severe eye trouble, bowel trouble, sprains, and burns have been healed in Christian Science, proving to us the power of God's law over the various forms of error. More beautiful than all else has been the healing of dispositions, bringing to light a truer expression of God's perfect child.
Mrs. Eddy's definition of "angels" as "God's thoughts passing to man" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 581) has been a great help. When we silence the material senses, these angel visitants do help us to solve our problems.
