The testimonies in our periodicals have always been a source of great inspiration to me, and it is with a sense of gratitude and love for the wonderful work Christian Science is doing for mankind that I tell of a recent healing which came to our home.
My little girl, six years of age, was taken ill very suddenly, and the help of a practitioner was asked. The condition seemed to grow steadily worse, and my husband felt that a doctor should diagnose the case. He was called, and immediately pronounced the decree of "double pneumonia." He knew that we were having Christian Science help and was very loving in offering his help and advice; but I knew that God was the only physician who could meet our need, so He alone was relied upon. The little girl in her simple faith wanted to hear nothing but the "Love book" read to her; and for nearly three days and three nights we read to her almost constantly from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Her condition was improved at the end of the third day; and in one week from the day she was taken ill she was back in school. I feel most grateful to the practitioner for her loving and faithful work, and for the great sense of confidence and gratitude which this healing has brought to me.
I myself have had many wonderful proofs of the efficacy of Christian Science. One month before my son was born I had a very severe attack of influenza, and was so beautifully healed, through the help of a practitioner, that my boy's birth was most normal and harmonious. That was five years ago. Last summer in one week's treatment I was healed of a severe case of neuritis in my left arm.
