The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Port Elizabeth, South Africa (Society).

Lecturer: John Randall Dunn; introduced by Miss Jessie Green, who said:—

The first words that told me anything about Christian Science were, "God is good." Those words were a revelation to me, because they showed me the possibility of knowing something about God. At that time I was on my way to consult a specialist regarding a physical ailment from which I had suffered for many years and for which I had tried many forms of medical treatment without any relief. Instead of visiting the specialist, I obtained a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and asked for treatment from a Christian Science practitioner; and I have been very grateful ever since that I did so, for in two or three weeks' time I was healed by the realization that God was manifested in all the qualities of good—wisdom, mercy, and intelligence.
