It is impossible for me to express the gratitude I feel for...

It is impossible for me to express the gratitude I feel for Christian Science, and it would take many pages should I attempt to enumerate the many blessings it has brought into my life since I first became interested in it about twelve years ago. It has healed me physically and mentally, and has uplifted me morally and spiritually.

I should like especially to mention a healing of blood poisoning which my little boy experienced very recently. One Monday he cut his foot on an old tin can. I washed the place, and he went on with his play. It gave no trouble that day or the next; but on Wednesday morning when he waked up, the foot was very much swollen and inflamed to the ankle. I took him on my lap and began to read and to treat him; but he did not improve, and I thought he was getting worse. About four o'clock I telephoned to a practitioner and told her about the case. She said she was glad I had called, and she would call me next morning. The little fellow began to improve almost immediately, and by supper time was walking on the foot, though limping a great deal. After supper he went out on the porch. I do not think he complained of any pain from the time I telephoned to the practitioner. The next morning he said his foot was well, and he was running about, although limping a little. A great change had taken place in the appearance of the foot, but there was still some inflammation. When the practitioner called I told her of his improvement, but said I should like him to have another treatment. She was very sweet and loving with me, but reminded me that the child's real selfhood had never been hurt and that blood had no power either to help or to harm him. She said that the child was all right and always had been; that the fear in my thought was what needed correction. When she telephoned the next morning I was glad to tell her that he was well. That evening he took a long walk.

Although the child was playing on the street on Thursday morning and limping a little, I do not think even my next-door neighbors noticed it or knew anything about the case. They said nothing to me about it. This healing has been a great help to me, and I am very, very grateful for it.—(Mrs.)Elizabeth B. Ritchie, Charlottesville, Virginia.
