[Original testimony in French]
For six and a half years I suffered from pulmonary tuberculosis
For six and a half years I suffered from pulmonary tuberculosis. During this time I stayed for three months in a Geneva hospital, and for seven months in a hospital at Lausanne. I spent three years and a half in the infirmary of Orbe and a month in the sanatorium of Leysin. In spite of all the kind attention I received in these different establishments, my health did not improve. The last physician who cared for me declared the condition incurable, and took the necessary steps in my community to obtain a small pension for me.
In September, 1918, a member of my family, who had been healed of stomach trouble, spoke to me of the numerous healings accomplished by Christian Science; and I decided to find a practitioner. From the very first treatments I felt a great improvement; and to-day my health is completely established. My gratitude to God is great for this physical healing; but I am still more grateful for the mental and spiritual healing and for the peace and the numerous blessings I receive each day through this teaching; for I am beginning to understand that God is the only power, the only redeemer of men, and the Giver of all good.
I should add that since my healing I have never been absent an hour from my work because of illness, although during two winters I filled a place in which I was exposed to their inclemencies. My wife and I enjoy good health, as does our small daughter, two years old. I consider it a great blessing to know the beautiful truth of Christian Science, and to be able to teach it to our child.
