It is with a very grateful heart that I sent forth this testimony, hoping it may help others. It was in January, 1915, that I began seriously to study Christian Science. I had known something of it for years, but had never read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and therefore had no clear understanding of it. From early childhood I had been subject to severe trouble with my throat and nose, several doctors and a specialist having told me I had better submit to an operation or there would be worse trouble later on. However, this did not take place; for when I turned to Christian Science as a last hope, I learned that the only operation needed was that of divine Love. The healing was seemingly slow because there was so much error to be eliminated from my thought, and that made me study all the more. As time went on, I began to realize that my outlook on life was gradually changing and a spiritual awakening was taking place. As I learned to seek first the kingdom of God the many errors that had troubled me began to disappear.

Christian Science is helping me to be more unselfish, to give rather than to get, to be more loving and considerate to others. It has helped me through times of trouble and stress, when the way seemed very dark, and I have begun to know what it is to be really happy. Truly, it is the "pearl of great price."

I am most grateful for the many privileges which have come to me through membership in a local church and in The Mother Church; for work in the Sunday school; for participation in the distribution work; and for the loving help from practitioners. My earnest desire is to of of use to others, and show in my life what Christian Science has done for me and is still doing. Each day I am more grateful for this grand truth and for the brave and unselfish life of its Discoverer and Founder, Mrs. Eddy. It seems strange to think that at one time I had a prejudice against her; but I did not know then, as I do now, the greatness of her work, and the clear vision she must have had to enable her to give to the world Science and Health.—(Miss)Winifred Amos, East Croydon, Surrey, England.
