Among the Churches

University City, Mo. (First Church).—First Church of Christ, Scientist, University City, to be at the southwest corner of Delmar Boulevard and Trinity Avenue, on a lot one hundred and twenty-three by one hundred and ninety-two feet, will be in the Roman Corinthian style and follow the traditions of many famous monuments of ancient Rome. The exterior will be constructed of Bedford stone. The structure will be surmounted with a copper dome, finished in Pompeian bronze color. The auditorium will seat eight hundred, and will be forty feet in height from floor to dome, will be illuminated entirely by indirect light, and will be artificially ventilated.—St. Louis Times.

Chatham, Ontario, Canada (First Church).—The congregation of the Christian Science church is now worshiping in the new church on First Street. The building known as the Nelson property was recently acquired and has been remodeled to provide a Sunday school hall and a spacious auditorium. The purchase of the First Street property marks a step forward for the organization in this city. The new building is one that lends itself readily to the erection of an addition should the future growth warrant. The property is in an ideal location. Although in the center of a fine residential district, it is within a few minutes' walk of the business center. Plans are now under way with the Horticultural Society to carry out an extension scheme of beautifying the large grounds on which the new church stands.—The Chatham Daily News.
