I wish to express my deep gratitude for a healing I had through Christian Science about a year ago. I had suffered for ten years from a complication of nervous troubles which allowed me neither physical nor mental rest. I also experienced unbearable pain in my legs, which made work of any kind impossible for me. Symptoms showed themselves daily in stomachic pains, and this condition made nutrition a very difficult question. I was also troubled with continual insomnia; so much so, that at times I felt as if about to lose my reason.

I tried without any benefit nearly every material remedy and treatment, including a stay in a nursing home from which good results had been expected, but which left me more depressed than ever. Then it was that these words were fulfilled in my case: "Man's extremity is God's opportunity." Christian Science was presented to me. My first feeling on reading a pamphlet which had been lent me was one of despair; for I thought that faith was necessary, and I had none, not having the least understanding of God. A few days after getting into touch with a practitioner, who with great kindness helped me very much at difficult times and who treated me regularly, I began to feel a degree of peace coming to me, and I could sleep. The healing was not instantaneous—it took several months; but gradually my strength returned. I recovered my spirits; and now I can accomplish my work as housewife without fatigue. I may add that in our family my husband has also been benefited, having lost the smoking habit which he had indulged for about thirty years. In the case of our children, too, ailments have been overcome, furnishing us with many proofs of the efficacy of Christian Science.

For these many blessings we are most grateful to those who first told us of Christian Science; to the devoted practitioner, who so faithfully treated me; and to Mary Baker Eddy for her beautiful book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," which teaches us to know God and to follow the teachings of Christ Jesus, the only way by which one may find peace.—(Mrs.)Claire Souliè, Villeneuve, St. Georges, France.
