It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I wish to add this testimony to the healing power of Christian Science; and I hope it will be a benefit to others on their way from sense to Soul.

Eight years ago, when all material aid had failed, a Christian Science practitioner was called, and I was healed of what the physicians called valvular disease of the heart, tuberculosis of the stomach and liver, and chronic appendicitis. The practitioner came and sat silently for a time, and then said to me: "You do not live because of your heart or any material organism whatsoever; you live because of God. You live because God lives." These declarations of Truth awakened me. I realized at once I did not live in a matter body, did not need to suffer because of it, did not need to be confined to my bed. I began at once to try to move my legs, which I was able to do until I was on the edge of the bed. The practitioner lifted them to the floor, and I arose in the strength of Spirit. To-day I am a well woman, and weigh one hundred and fifty-two pounds. I have since been healed of chronic constipation, headaches, and quick temper. I am striving daily and hourly to lay aside the beliefs of the flesh, and replace them with truth and love.

For all these healings I am most grateful; but I am more grateful for the spiritual understanding that God is my Life, my health, and my strength, and that man, the image and likeness of God, is perfect, indestructible, and eternal. I am indeed grateful to God, our dear Father-Mother, and to our Master, Christ Jesus; and I should feel this testimony not to be complete without expressing the greatest reverence, gratitude, and love for our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her great sacrifice and love for suffering humanity. Words fail adequately to express my gratitude to her for giving Christian Science to the world.
