For many years I had been a sufferer from what doctors call hernia or rupture, and was told by physicians whom I consulted that my only relief would be in an operation; but through all my sufferings I believed in God, although I did not know how to turn to Him for healing, until a dear lady who was visiting here from Canton, Ohio, heard of my suffering and told me I could be healed through Christian Science. I was ready and willing to try anything. Through the aid of a Christian Science practitioner, I had an instantaneous healing; and since then I have had many other healings in Christian Science.

For all the physical healings I am indeed grateful; but more than all else for the peace and joy which come with a clear understandings of God as eternal Truth. For all the blessings I have received in Christian Science I am grateful to God, the Giver of all good gifts; to our dear Master, Christ Jesus the Way-shower; and also to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who so bravely bore "the burden in the heat of the day" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 130) in order to give to this age the truth which is making mankind free.

I am also grateful for the privilege of being a member of The Mother Church and of our local society, and for the blessings that come to me through the authorized Christian Science literature.
