Since I became interested in Christian Science, about...
Since I became interested in Christian Science, about three years ago, the desire for tobacco has left me. I had been addicted to it for about four years. I was healed of influenza by a kind practitioner in a short time. Through my understanding of the law of God, I have overcome toothache on two occasions. I have learned somewhat the meaning of these words, to be found on page 57 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy: "Happiness is spiritual, born of Truth and Love." I have more confidence now in God as the One who supplies our needs. Fear has been replaced with the consciousness of God's ever-presence as divine Love. Christian Science is teaching me to recognize man as the image and likeness of God, good.
The good that has come to me I owe to the authorized writings on Christian Science by Mrs. Eddy, its Discoverer and Founder, and to her students; especially to Science and Health, which is the one and only textbook of Christian Science. I am grateful to God for His nearness; to Christ Jesus; to all those individuals mentioned in the Bible who practiced spiritual healing; and to all those friends who have helped me along.
Charles John Cracknell, Lakeport, Ontario, Canada.
