Christian Science has been bringing many blessings to me for a number of years. My gratitude for all of them is unbounded. Christian Science found me in a most deplorable mental and physical condition, and immediately lifted me out of their worst phases.

My first healing was of a serious disease of the throat from which I had suffered since earliest childhood. In fact, every member of my family had always been subject to this condition. It had been diagnosed by many physicians as chronic diphtheritical sore throat. There had been four operations on the throat, which seemed to relieve me for a time. Finally, the disease became so aggravated as to require constant treatment of the most severe type. Much of the time I was not able to speak aloud. I was so impressed with what a young student of Christian Science told me of Christian Science teaching and demonstration,—that the healing works of Jesus were being duplicated by this method of healing,—that I asked her to help me, with the result that I awakened the next morning amazed to discover that I was healed. My family could not believe that such a wonderful thing could be accomplished in so short a space of time. I have never suffered since with any kind of throat trouble.

Shortly after this I was healed instantaneously of a disease of the eyes which had baffled oculists, whom I had consulted at various periods for seventeen years, and who were men of national and international reputation. The diagnoses of all were the same: imperfect formations of the eyes and partial paralysis of the optic nerve of one eye. These specialists held out no hope at all of healing. From the moment the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was placed in my hands, I knew that I had found the explanation of the Bible. It became as a new book; and day by day there were unfolded to my consciousness the beauties of the Word of God. I then knew why no one had been able to interpret them for me before. My heart goes out in gratitude to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her selfless work in giving to us the priceless treasures which we possess in her writings.
