I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science...

I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. I have received many healings through its ministrations. Recently, I experienced a quick healing from what seemed quite a serious condition, as I was ill with sore throat and fever. I declared the truth as we are taught in Christian Science, with the result that the fever was destroyed, and I was able to dress and sit up all day; but at night the throat felt very uncomfortable. My husband, who is not a Christian Scientist, was very much alarmed, and begged me to call for help; but I told him that I was all right, and wanted to make the demonstration for myself. In the middle of the second night I awoke and worked faithfully to know God's allness, therefore the nothingness of all that is unlike Him, and these words from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 420), came to me: "If students do not readily heal themselves, they should early call an experienced Christian Scientist to aid them." The word "early" seemed to stand out from the rest of the sentence. And I said mentally that I would be obedient; if I were not better in the morning I would ask for help. When morning came the throat was worse, so I told my husband he might ask a practitioner to help me, which he did. I got up, dressed, and went downstairs, but when I attempted to eat my breakfast I found I could swallow only liquids. This condition was the same at noon, but late in the afternoon I felt a decided change. At night I was able to eat solid food for supper; and by the next night I was completely healed.

My earnest desire is to be faithful to the teachings of Mrs. Eddy as given to us in her writings.
