The statement, "Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new," best expresses to me the sense of life that has come to me through the healings received since I took up the study of Christian Science. Some twenty years ago, in one week of Christian Science treatment, I was healed of chronic stomach and bowel trouble, which many physicians had pronounced incurable. In the very first treatment, healing came of a lifelong throat trouble, although this ailment had not been mentioned to the practitioner. Since that wonderful experience many other healings have been experienced, one of which stands out particularly, because it was accomplished alone through my own reading and study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," in which our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, has shown us the way to work out every problem. In one year's study of this great book I was enabled to lay aside glasses, which had been worn for about eight years, and which, according to specialists, could never be discarded. But great as was the relief experienced, nothing can take the place of the glorious spiritual understanding of divine Principle and man's reflection of Principle, which understanding day by day enables us to work out every problem.
