I wish to tell of my healing in Christian Science

I wish to tell of my healing in Christian Science. For five years I suffered untold misery from liver and stomach trouble, extreme nervousness and weak eyes. Although several doctors treated me and we tried every material remedy we knew of, I grew worse. The last doctor told me I should have to be operated on for an internal trouble before I could ever expect to be well. But I was then too weak to stand an operation. I had been confined to my bed three months, living on liquids and dry toast, until I could no longer take any nourishment, and a swallow of water caused me to have convulsions. Then a neighbor, who had been healed of the same trouble, came in to see me and advised our trying Christian Science. We decided to do so, called a practitioner, and I received wonderful help from the first. She gave me "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and told me to read what I could, and I did so. She treated me ten days; then told me I did not need to have her come to see me any longer, that I would get along all right. I began to eat what I wanted and all I wanted, and have done so ever since.

I am so grateful to the kind practitioner, and to dear Mrs. Eddy for the good her discovery has brought to the world. Christian Science is teaching me to be more loving and more considerate of others, and is making my home happier.—(Mrs.) Addie Smyre, Dallas, Texas.
