Letters from the Field

"Only those who have had the privilege of being members of the large, happy family at the Sanatorium of The Christian Science Benevolent Association can know the joy of recording even a little of their gratitude for what our Leader has styled as a 'Christian Science resort for the so-called sick' (Sentinel, Oct. 7, 1916), and for the excellent work being accomplished there.

"Some time ago, I was impressed to withdraw for a little while from the busy, daily routine of affairs, and to seek quiet and seclusion for study and inspiration in order to do the best spiritual work a Christian Science practice always demands. As the result of prayerful desire to be rightly guided, I was led to apply to The Christian Science Benevolent Association for admission to its Sanatorium for a short time, and was accepted in due course.

"Ever since the first shovelful of earth was displaced for its foundation, I had been much interested in the progress and completion of the building. In the management and operation of the affairs of the Association, I have noted with satisfaction the intelligent development and carrying out of the purposes for which our Leader established it. But not until through personal experience as a registered guest, did I become intimately acquainted with the truly benevolent inside atmosphere, if I may so express it, and fully appreciate just how wholesome and health giving it is.
