I am very grateful for this opportunity to express my gratitude for deliverance from an accident which occurred some years ago. I was returning from a Christian Science testimony meeting, accompanied by some friends who had brought me home in an automobile. I stepped out of the car and lingered a moment to converse with the occupants. With no warning and no time for evasion, a big car bore down upon me, and threw me twenty feet from the car. I felt myself losing consciousness, but was soon aroused by the declaration of the truth of being, which was being voiced by the Christian Science practitioner standing near. I then assured my friends that I was not hurt, and with a little help was able to walk up three flights of steps. I slept well that night, and remained only one day from my office. There was a small bruise; but the fear was so entirely destroyed that I was able to resume my duties with absolutely no bad effects from the experience. My son has been healed of blood poisoning; and many minor difficulties have been quickly met. I know that I cannot express in mere words the gratitude that I feel for the awakening which Christian Science has brought into my life; but I realize that I will have the opportunity to follow our dear Leader's advice when she tells us in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 15), to "let our lives attest our sincerity."
