Permit me to correct an erroneous statement as to the teachings and practice of Christian Science which your issue of recent date publishes in an article, "Many Modern Miracles," and under subhead of "Auto-suggestion Popular in London."

Christian Science is the exact opposite of the named systems. It is the remedy for hypnotism, auto-suggestion, psycho-analysis, all the mesmeric activities of the human mind, which seem for a while to help but which ultimate in confusion, disturbed or deranged minds, the house divided against itself, which, as Scripture teaches, always falls. The mental activity manifested in Christian Science healing is that mind "which was also in Christ Jesus," the realization and the utilization of the truth that God, the creator of the universe and of man, is the only power; that this God, called Love in the Bible, never ceases to care for his children.

A scientific knowledge of the supreme intelligence or Mind which is God, applied to human ills results in the myriads of healings through Christian Science which are called miracles, in the sense of being wonderful but not in the sense of being exceptions to law. The mental healings of Christian Science are due to the understanding and application of the laws of God, as revealed in the Bible and practiced by Jesus, the master Christian. His followers in all ages, when they have perceived their ability and duty in this direction have demonstrated their Christianity by healing disease.
