I wish to express my gratitude to God for leading me to Christian Science; to Jesus the Way-shower, who practiced the Christ-healing centuries ago; and to Mary Baker Eddy, who, in this age, rediscovered this wonderful spiritual healing.

From childhood I suffered from valvular heart trouble. As years passed it grew steadily worse until I had to spend most of my time in bed. Our doctor did all that he could do, but to no effect. Along with the heart trouble I suffered for six years with a constant issue of blood which made me so weak I had often to struggle for breath. These attacks left me very helpless for hours afterward. During the long nights I used to lie and wonder what would become of my young son if I was taken away, and prayed to God to heal me as Jesus did the woman who touched him in the crowd. Very soon after this my sister in Boston, U.S.A., sent me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, asking me to read it, and also some Sentinels.

I had never heard of Christian Science before, nor did I know any one who had studied it. I enjoyed reading what I could of the book, but my eyes were so weak I could only read a little at a time. One day I felt as if my end was near, and cried out, "God is Life—God is Love." The peace that came to me then has been the most sacred moment of my life. I felt I had been healed of that discordant condition. The heart trouble and the great weakness still held me in bondage, so my sister sent me a Journal with a list of practitioners and advised me to get help. I wrote to one in Glasgow and asked for absent treatment. This was very lovingly given at once. The irritation and weakness passed away quickly. In a week I was able to rise and cook our food with pleasure, and in a very few weeks was able to do all my housework. Oh, the joy of it to be active and well again!
