Christian Science came to me in the summer of 1918
Christian Science came to me in the summer of 1918. Several years previously a goiter which I had had since childhood had been removed by a surgical operation, but about a year and a half later another one appeared, which was removed in the same way. One day I expressed to a friend of mine the fear that the goiter might return. She reminded me that I had had it doctored without success, and recommended if it should reappear that I consider trying Christian Science. I cannot express my gratitude for such a friend. Shortly after our conversatin the goiter reappeared. The fear was so great that I became hysterical. My friend directed me to a Christian Science practitioner, and I shall never forget my first visit. After talking with her and having a treatment, I left, all the intense fear having gone. In two weeks' time the goiter had also disappeared, and I cannot begin to tell how grateful I am. I am so thakful that I have found Christian Science, for I have been helped in so many different ways. Through my healing three other members of my family have been helped, and are studying Christian Science.
I am most grateful for the help of the practitioner, but above all I am grateful for the understanding of God as an ever present help, which the study of Christian Science has given to me.
