Thirteen years ago our attention was directed to Christian Science by a friend. As my mother was a diligent Bible student, she said that she must first investigate this teaching to ascertain whether it agreed with the teachings of the Bible, so we attended the services and meetings and purchased copies of Der Herold der Christian Science, in this way gaining a deeper spiritual understanding. Then we requested the help of a practitioner. My mother was suffering from a nervous heart trouble and numerous sores on the hand, which would not heal, in spite of the salves she applied. For eleven years I had suffered from a skin disease which hindered my walking and caused me great distress. I was also sick in other ways and suffered much from headache. My mother and I went to a practitioner at the same time, each of us having three treatments, through which we were completely healed. For a long time after that we were able to overcome all difficulties through our own study of Christian Science and the application of what we had learned.

Only recently, after thirteen years, it again became necessary for me to request the help of a practitioner, as I was unable to overcome an erroneous condition for myself, namely an abnormal loss of hair. I was again quickly healed, and realize that this lesson was necessary, for I had never thought of expressing my thanks to God publicly for the privilege of knowing Christian Science, which was a rod and a staff to my mother and myself during the trying years of the recent war. We are inexpressibly thankful for the love of our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who gave us a correct understanding of the Bible and of Jesus' teachings.—(Miss) Magdalene Poseck, Berlin-Niederschonweide, Germany.
