It is with feelings of deepest gratitude that I avail myself of the privilege given through our periodicals of telling of some of the many benefits which both my family and I have derived from Christian Science. It was not until I had exhausted all material means of which I knew, including two operations and many kinds of treatment, that I was persuaded to try Christian Science for the overcoming of an internal trouble. I was greatly discouraged, as I was steadily growing worse and fast becoming an invalid, but after two weeks' treatment my condition was so greatly improved that I felt assured I would be healed. While the complete healing was slow, it was nevertheless sure, and within a few months I had gained an entirely different outlook on life. A nervous disorder and stomach trouble which caused great suffering disappeared, and glasses which had been worn for twelve years were finally discarded. When I commenced the study of Christian Science I could not use my eyes even with glasses for more than a few minutes at a time and never at night without pain, and if I broke my glasses I was miserable until they could be replaced. Now I do close work without glasses in perfect comfort and have done so for five years.
Our little boy, aged one year and a half, is a strong and healthy child and has never tasted medicine. When he was born many of the so-called material laws were proved powerless. I came to Christian Science purely for physical healing, and after a few of its beautiful truths were explained to me I saw that the Bible contianed nothing less than spiritual healing, and many Scriptural passages became illumined. My every need has been met when I have faithfully applied the teachings of Christian Science, no matter what the nature of the error, whether physical, mental, or financial, and I am learning to be grateful for the problems that arise, since through them we learn how to turn unreservedly to divine Principle. To know that divine Love governs me and mine at all times and under all circumstances is a source of unspeakable comfort. I am truly grateful for all these and many other blessings which Christian Science has brought to me.—Mrs. J. V. Rea, Brush, Colo.
