After medicine had failed, surgery had proved worse than useless, and fresh air, exercise, and diet had brought no relief, my husband and I turned to Christian Science, not be cause we believed in it, but because it was the only thing left untried.
One night about ten years ago I was feeling desperately weary of being sick and helpless and was debating with myself as to whether it was worth while to read the Bible, for I had reached a stage of great dissatisfaction, because it seemed to me that the Bible did not afford any practical aid as did the teachings of Jesus.
