In deep thankfulness to God and gratitude to dear Mrs. Eddy I give here some of the many benefits I have received through the study and help of Christian Science. In the summer of 1917 I got some buttermilk at a little store and drank more than half a glass before I detected the taste of the can. Then I set it aside, as I did not want any more, and thought no more about it. The next morning I did not feel well. I tried to apply the small understanding I had of Truth, also went over the Lesson-Sermon, but did not seem to get any better. Late in the afternoon the suffering had become most intense. My husband asked me if I were not feeling well and insisted on sending at once to Christian Science practitioner for help. By that time I was almost unconscious and very near having convulsions. To human sense I was almost passing away. About an hour after we asked for help from the practitioner I became nauseated, and the aftertaste of the milk can nearly locked my jaws. Then I remembered drinking the buttermilk and the practitioner was told about it. In a few hours I began to get relief. About two o'clock in the morning the beautiful promise of our dear Savior came to me: "These signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." I awoke with the sweetest sense of peace and rest. All suffering left me and I knew I was being healed. I did not seem to gain my strength until late in the fall, but was able to be up and do my work with ease after one week.

I have also been healed of neuralgia. One day I was standing on a chair trying to get some fruit from a high shelf when I lost my balance and fell back, my head hitting the iron bedpost. I seemed stunned at first. My husband came to help me up, but my back and head hurt so I could not get up, so I asked him to wait a few minutes. I repeated the "scientific statement of being," as given on page 468 of Science and Health; then came to my thought so beautifully the words on page 16 of the same book, "Our Father-Mother God, all-harmonious." I got up without any assistance and finished my work. There were no bad effects.

I feel most grateful for these beautiful experiences of Truth's power over error; also for all the love and help that have been given me and for the helpful literature we have to read to purify our thought. The spiritual uplift is far greater than can ever be expressed by human tongue.
