The time has come when I too must be among the number to express my gratitude to God for the many blessings I have received and am still receiving through Christian Science, the understanding of God and His law. To say I was sick does not describe my condition. I felt like a drowning man without anything in sight to cling to. My experience with materia medica had not been satisfactory, for material means had never helped any of our family under similar conditions. I could not understand why I should so early be condemned to a life of ill health or to die, when I was living a true Christian life and desired to live and be useful. Then I saw an article which told of a healing that was claimed to have been brought about through Christian Science. I read it and reread it, and decided immediately to investigate this teaching. I made two efforts to get Mrs. Eddy's book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" from a public library in a large city near where I live, but both attempts were unsuccessful. This I could not understand, so I decided to ask God to lead me in His way to the book if He wanted me to read it, and He did lead me in a most beautiful way. In a few days the book was very unexpectedly handed to me by one who became a most valued friend. I soon found its teachings to be the truth that I had longed for, and the book became my daily companion.

Like many others I preferred instantaneous healing, but I now see that the slower healing resulted in a better understanding of the truth. It has been almost five years since I began the study of Christian Science, and I am enjoying better health than ever before, am happier, and understand better how to live and to enjoy the blessings God intended for His children. It would be difficult to express in words the gratitude in my heart for Christian Science and its authorized literature, for Mrs. Eddy's great work for us, and for the many blessings I have received.
