Until about three years ago I had taken medicine nearly all my life. When an attack of appendicitis set in our physician thought an operation would right everything, so I finally consented to one, thinking if I could only be well how happy I would be. For about a year after that I seemed to get along pretty well, but soon other troubles presented themselves, and in a short time I was suffering more than ever before from acute bladder trouble and neuritis. I had electric treatments, used plasters, and took medicine with no result.

At this time Christian Science was brought to my notice. A few days later I was taken with a severe toothache. I read all day in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," but seemed to get worse. I went to bed, but could not sleep. About midnight the thought came to me to have Christian Science treatment, so I called a practitioner and told her about my tooth, and she said she would help me. I did not know what was expected of me, but took Science and Health and tried to read. The tooth, however, ached so hard I gave it up, and finally called again, telling the practitioner I had received no help. She said she would continue to work for me, and immediately after that I fell asleep. In the morning the pain was gone and during the day the soreness disappeared. This demonstration proved to me that Christian Science heals. Soon afterwards I went to the practitioner and was healed of all the other ailments. My only physician now is this wonderful truth.

When our baby was five months old we had treatments for her for stomach disorder. We had tried all kinds of baby foods, and also cow's milk with no success. Since she had treatment she has taken all the foods I had in the house that she could not take before. I am more than grateful for this healing. About a year ago our little boy had so much trouble with his eyes that his teacher advised us to have them examined. My husband, not being interested in Christian Science at the time, took him to a specialist who treated him and also fitted him with glasses, but after wearing these for a while he seemed so much worse and it seemed so hard for him to wear them, that my husband consented to having Science treatment for him. We had just one treatment and the trouble was overcome. His teacher says he is getting along nicely, and is doing much better work than before.

We have just experienced a demonstration of the guiding power of God. Both our children had whooping cough. A little fear crept in at first, so I asked for treatment. All fear left me and we got along beautifully. Our baby got through without whooping at all, and the work we did for them in Science has been a great help to us. I say "us" now, for my husband has been shown the way, and for this I am truly very grateful. We now work out our problems together, and know that God is omnipotent, supreme, and that divine Love does supply our every need. My daily prayer is that I may gain a better understanding of this wonderful truth, and so live as to be worthy to be called a Christian Scientist.
