Christian Science came to me about seven years ago, from which time it has been part of my daily study. That its teaching is demonstrably true, I soon experienced. For more than ten years I had been an inveterate smoker. Through reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I was freed forever from that habit. Since then, in all the departments of life Christian Science has been to me a wonderful and sure help, and at this time I know that the law of God, the eternal Mind, is an ever present help and guide.

At first, applying Christian Science in times of temptation and trouble I would solve the problem before me in a rather impetuous way, but now it is clear to me that the more thought is allowed to rest in God, good, the more effectual will be the healing power, which comes from the realization of Him who was not in the great and strong wind, neither in the earthquake, nor in the fire, but whom Elijah recognized as a "still small voice" speaking to man. I have made mistakes, it is true, but have learned to profit even by them. Love has not left me alone. The most glorious thing of all that I have found through seeking God in the Christian Science way,—and that which is far above all other evidences,—is the spiritual uplift or the imperishable joy and peace which "passeth all understanding" and from whence come the power and strength whereby to overcome whatever has no part in God. Hope grows thereby and one's eye is purified to catch a glimpse of the real world.

Thanks be to God for the noble woman, Mrs. Eddy, who was found worthy to receive the revelation of the truth of being, which she sets forth in Christian Science. This Science is teaching us all things and is bringing all things which Jesus said to our remembrance. It is indeed the Comforter that the Father has sent as promised by the Master. Only in my daily walk and conversation can I express my gratitude, and to do this is my prayer.
