My favorite among musical instruments has always been...
My favorite among musical instruments has always been the Italian harp, and for a number of years after marriage it had been my privilege top have the best teachers available wherever we were living. About eight years ago I went to Chicago for the purpose of having further instruction, and most of my time was devoted to practice and study, leaving little if any for recreation or other purposes. For some months all went well, then doubt and fear as to whether I was making the desired and expected progress began to manifest themselves. It was not long before I had worried myself into a mental and physical condition that plainly made it impossible to go on, and reluctantly I returned home, keenly feeling the failure I had made out of the opportunity from which I had hoped to accomplish so much.
A complete collapse followed, and the consultations of our family physician and specialists resulted in my being taken away for confinement in a hospital for the insane. During the months that followed not a word of encouragement was given by any physician or nurse connected with the institution. The next summer Christian Science was brought to the attention of my family, a practirioner was sought, and for the first time they heard words of hope and good cheer. After several months of treatment I was restored to my family, and then came to me a most vivid realization that now, as in Peter's time, the angels of God can unloose the chains and open the prison doors for those in bondage. Since then I have been an earnest student of the Bible and of Mrs. Eddy's writings, in a humble effort to pass on to others in need some realization of this truth and of God's healing power.
Words cannot express our deep gratitude for this healing and the many other blessings which have come to us through the study and living of this truth.
