Extracts from Letters

"I desire to express my gratitude to God for His many blessings to me during the past five years of military service, as I feel that I owe to Christian Science the fact that I am alive to-day. Whilst in the trenches I once experienced instantaneous healing by absent treatment. I was taken ill in the front line, got very weak, and could hardly sleep or eat anything. I at once wrote home to the practitioner who was patiently and lovingly helping me while on service. The same day that my letter reached London, I moved into reserve, feeling very ill indeed, lay down in a dugout, and dropped asleep. A few hours afterwards, I awoke perfectly well, ate a hearty meal, and spent half the next night in No Man's Land as strong and well as ever.

"The Christian Science literature has been a positive godsend to me on active service, and thanks to Mrs. Eddy's revelation of the truth, the ninety-first psalm is to me no longer an overoptimistic fable as heretofore. No testimony can adequately express my gratitude for Christian Science."
