It is with a sense of deep gratitude that I testify to the blessings received through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. Since I was quite young I have regularly enjoyed the study of the Bible and found therein help to do what is right; but the study of the Christian Science textbook is certainly helping me to a better understanding of God as the divine, ever present, and omnipotent Mind and Principle. I believed that God was all-powerful and loving, and that He took care of those who loved Him and tried to live according to His commandments, but Science and Health is giving me a clearer perception of divine Truth; all seems brighter and more beautiful, as if a new life had been revealed to me. Although I did not sorrow, knowing that God is almighty to guide and to help according to His promise in Psalms, "Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved;" yet I find that Mrs. Eddy's teaching respecting the power of Love makes me ever glad, and I no longer wonder what the future is going to be. When I awake in the morning I feel like a child who knows no care. Before studying Christian Science I used to plan for a good and successful day; now I realize that I need only follow the Shepherd's guidance, moment by moment.

I came to Christian Science for physical healing, after having suffered much for many years. Although I trusted the divine Physician, I was considered to be very ill last spring, unable to walk even across the room, and I was advised by the doctor and my friends to submit to a surgical operation that would cause me to be laid up in the hospital for a considerable time, as the only means to get better. Having heard of the healing work done by Christian Science I preferred to dispense with all material help and turn to God for healing, so dear Christian Scientists informed as practitioner of my wish and need. The first treatment brought relief and in one week I was better—able to walk and to demonstrate the truth.

I find that this teaching can be grasped as the clouds of corporeal sense roll away; it is indeed a new birth, the true idea of God, the spiritual sense of being, which helps us to live, to work, to watch for wisdom, Truth, and Love. When we awake to the truth of being, all disease, pain, weakness, sorrow, and sin vanish into nothingness. Nothing ever gave me more joy and happiness than the spiritual uplift of Christian Science which brings peace and harmony; it is the greatest blessing to all who are willing to avail themselves of our Savior's call, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." I wish to express my gratitude to the faithful followers of Christian Science for their loving, encouraging thoughts. I am thankful to God for all the good that has come to me through this teaching, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her loving service to mankind.
