A short time ago, after a Wednesday evening meeting, a gentleman asked if I did not think it would be of great benefit if more testimonies were given of what Christian Science can do for business men. The testimony I had given had encouraged him, and thinking that it might do the same for others similarly placed, I am writing some of my experiences for publication, hoping they may prove helpful.

About twelve years ago I came to New York a stranger. I sought employment, and in almost every instance seemed to answer all questions satisfactorily. Several times I was even told I could fill the position, when the final question would be put, "Have you a city reference?" I had none; therefore was considered not qualified. I became discouraged, as day by day my need was greater, and having been successful in other cities, I began to resent my apparent failure. In desperation one day I visited a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and saw on a wall this inscription from Science and Health (p. 494): "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." To a lady near me I cried out that that was what I needed; then told her my story. She said, "Divine Love will certainly help you," and with this comfort I left the church. A few days later I had a position. Many other business problems have been solved in like manner.

Some years before the above mentioned experience Christian Science had proved itself the great physician. I had been suffering from a number of organic diseases which at short intervals caused extreme pain. Although cared for by physicians I grew rapidly worse, until operations promised the only relief. I had been on diets for several years, and resting comfortably at night was out of the question, due to pain in the heart. After a few treatments in Christian Science there was relief, and hope was revived. One after another the ills disappeared. Since then diphtheria, melancholia, necrosis of the lower jaw causing it to lock, sick headaches, intestinal inflammation, grief, and many minor ailments have been overcome.
