As I have had the privilege of reading a great many testimonies,...
As I have had the privilege of reading a great many testimonies, I would like to add one more to those already given in the Christian Science periodicals. About four years ago our home was very discordant on account of sickness, and it seemed as though there was no help for us. My mother had been troubled with nervousness in its worst form for about a year and a half or possibly two years, and also could not retain food. She had been attended by three physicians, one of whom was a relative. Very often my sisters and I remarked, "If there is a God in heaven, why does He not help us?" He most certainly has answered our prayer; for these conditions have been overcome through the power of Truth, and my mother enjoys better health than she did for a good many years; in fact, I am quite sure that she would not be with us to-day if it were not for Christian Science. We are not only grateful for the physical healings which have taken place, but also for the fact that God protected my mother at a time when she did not care to live, as everything seemed so dark.
Another healing was that of my niece. One day in visiting my brother, I found she had been quite ill for two or three weeks. The doctor had called at their home several times, and although he could not diagnose the case, he thought she had malarial fever. I asked permission to treat her, and did so to the best of my ability. As she wished to go home with me, even though she had been in bed for at least a week, we started on a two hours' trip the following day, and upon arriving at my home she was able to eat a good supper. In about a week there was a decided change; after that, however, we became neglectful, and as the condition had not been entirely met, there seemed to be a relapse. At this point we asked for help from a practitioner, and with three treatments my niece was healed. Here again was proof of God's omnipotence.
I could tell of any number of other healings and experiences, but suffice it to say that I am very grateful to have learned that God is good and heals all our diseases. I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy, through whom this truth was brought to humanity again, and my gratitude also goes out to all the friends who have helped us to get a better understanding of God and man.—(Miss) Minnie Fuchs, Bronx, N. Y.
