I took up Christian Science after the doctor said he could do no more for me, and with the aid of a practitioner I was healed both mentally and physically. It seemed weeks that I had been unable to sleep, and several weeks that I was hardly able to eat. When other complications set in I was miserable; I was not interested in anything, would not even read a newspaper.
I could not see much change for about three months after beginning treatments in Christian Science, except that my appetite improved and I was able to sleep a little better. I got so discouraged that I stopped treatments for about two weeks, also gave up reading the Bible and Science and Health or any of the Christian Science literature; then I was indeed most miserable. One day my husband urged me to try Christian Science again, so I consented, to please him, for I had given up hope of anything doing me any good. He wrote to the practitioner, and the day that treatment was resumed I got out my books and began to study the Lesson-Sermon and have kept it up ever since. That was indeed a happy day for us. Gradually my condition improved and in about two months I was healed. My health is now excellent; I can work all day and seldom get tired. Fear and worry are being eliminated and other things have been overcome, such as sick headaches, dysentery, colds, and hay fever, some by the aid of a practitioner and some through my own understanding of the truth. My husband has also been helped, and every day we read the Lesson-Sermon together. The Bible seems a new book to me now. I enjoy the Christian Science periodicals and am much benefited by reading them.
Words cannot express my thankfulness to God, and my joy that we are governed by His law instead of the so-called material law. I am also grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who has helped us to see the help way, and to the loving friends who have been such a help to me. My sincere desire is to be a true follower of Christ and to be able to show others the way.—(Mrs.) Fred D. Fuller, Fullerton, Neb.
