A deep sense of gratitude to God prompts me to add my testimony to the many already published. Prior to the year 1915 I had practically no occasion to investigate the teachings of Christian Science, and even went so far as to ridicule the many accounts of healing attributed thereto; a genuine awakening was, however, in store for me. In the fall of 1915 my two-year-old boy contracted a severe case of bronchitic, which eventually became chronic, and according to several physicians there was little likelihood that he would ever be entirely free from it. Then, too, he was said to have enlargement of the heart, which we were told but aggravated the other trouble, and grave doubts were expressed as to his survival.

Having exhausted every means known to the medical profession, and having tried change of climate three times in the hope of obtaining relief for him, I decided to try Christian Science. At this juncture we moved suddenly to Los Angeles, California. The child contracted a severe cold on the train and the old trouble returned with additional severity, so I telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner. Shortly afterward she arrived, and I shall never forget the encouraging atmosphere she seemed to create. The little fellow was given a treatment, after which he was put to bed. He went to sleep immediately without coughing, something he had not done for two years, and awoke but once during the night; then my wife read from the copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, which the practitioner had left with us, and he was soon asleep again. Treatment was continued for six days, after which time all symptoms had disappeared. Since this healing we have had many other beautiful demonstrations, and our boy is now healthy and happy.

Words cannot express the gratitude in my heart for the many blessings bestowed through the healing truth that God has given us, and for that peace of mind which indeed passes all understanding.—G. P. Kennedy, Santa Ana, Cal.
