About five years ago I had an ailment which seven physicians tried to cure, but without any result. When I had about given up all hope, a friend who had been healed in Christian Science advised me to try it, and as a last resort I went to a practitioner, who told me of God's love for His children, that He does not send sickness, trouble, and death, but hope, life, and health, and unfolded to me this new-old truth which Jesus preached to the people nearly two thousand years ago. The result was, that through the power of Truth I was entirely healed of this trouble. Through the clear understanding of Principle, many erroneous conditions that have arisen in my family have been overcome and have gone to their native nothingness. A few of these experience stand out in bold relief, for at the time they seemed very real. The drink habit was overcome very quickly, a pronounced rupture disappeared in three treatments, and what is known as wild eyelashes, heart trouble, and business problems have all yielded to the truth. Some of these were overcome by our own understanding of God's loving-kindness; others, by the assistance of a practitioner.

While words cannot express our gratitude for these healings, still the spiritual uplift is the most beautiful part of Christian Science, which teaches us man's relation to our Father-Mother God. We are indeed grateful for even a little understanding of the truth and for the many blessings received from Christian Science; also to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, whose writings and teachings are far in advance of the generation in which she lived, and for the privilege of owning and reading her wonderful book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
