That anyone could be healed of stomach trouble of twenty years' standing simply through reading or studying a book, must seem strange to those who have never investigated Christian Science,—yet this has been my experience. I had tried material means in accordance with the advice of scores of physicians, compelling myself to accept a most rigid diet, and was a slave to the laws of hygiene; yet my condition constantly grew worse, until two meals a day seemed to be my limit. I was starving, according to sense testimony, for want of food, but stood in mortal fear of eating it. Then a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" was placed in my hands by my daughter. I shall never forget the first reading of this glorious book. Perhaps a year passed before my healing was complete, but during this time the tobacco habit gradually left me. The truth finally dawned upon me quite suddenly, that divine metaphysics had performed its work, and I began to eat all things set before me. Colds, catarrh, eyestrain, bowel trouble, and many other ills have been overcome by the correct understanding of man's true relationship to God, as taught in Christian Science.

The physical healing has been marvelous and grand, but compared to the spiritual regeneration and the peace that Christian Science has brought into my life, it is of secondary consideration. I am deeply grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her discovery, and for the many blessings coming to me through the daily application of this new-old truth.
