Benevolent Funds of The Mother Church

"Inclosed please find draft for thirty-one dollars and sixteen cents ($31.16), which is the collection taken in the local church on Sunday, July 29, for the War Relief fund. I am sure I can speak for each one in saying we are sending this with love and a feeling of gratitude that we can do even this little 'bit' to help those dear ones across the sea who need it so much; and especially thankful that we have this channel through which to reach them."

"I am at a loss how adequately to express to you my surprise and pleasure, much less my deep gratitude, when receiving the present of fifty francs, for never before have I received such a great gift from strangers. Will the esteemed relief committee please accept my sincerest thanks for their good will. Next to God, I thank all the donors most sincerely."

"I have to-day received the nice sum of money, and thank the esteemed committee and all the generous donors with all my heart. I cannot thank God enough for this noble gift. Your relief money has helped me out of many a strait in these difficult times. How often has want appeared at my door before I received your present! God has helped me again. He does not forsake us. Since I have turned to Christian Science I have had peace and quiet. Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, must have been a pious and God-fearing woman, whom God had appointed to bring, through her great love, blessings and peace to so many people. What a noble and rich heritage she has left us! We cannot be too grateful to God and to this noble benefactress."
