For several years I suffered greatly from muscular rheumatism, which at frequent intervals was so severe I could not use my leg. I had resort to all the material remedies prescribed for such cases, but without obtaining satisfactory relief. While experiencing one of the most severe attacks, I began to read Science and Health, and became so interested and absorbed in its teachings that my thought was entirely diverted from the suffering. After reading the book about an hour I discovered that the trouble had entirely disappeared, but I feared to move my leg lest the awful suffering should return. Desiring to enter another room, I prepared myself to hop as usual on one foot, but when I arose I found it possible to place my full weight on the afflicted leg without the least inconvenience or twinge of pain. This healing occurred in 1906, and the ailment has never returned. I have not taken any medicine since.

In 1914 I was overcome by an attack of neuralgia of the kidneys, and what I suffered for about two hours could not be expressed in words. I thought my time to pass on had surely come, and that unless I got quick relief in some way I would go insane; yet I can endure as much pain without complaining as the ordinary person. A telephone message was sent to a Christian Science practitioner, and within half an hour after she received the message I fell into a sound sleep and awoke half an hour later entirely free from pain. There has never been a return of the trouble.

I thank God for revealing to us the truth through Mrs. Eddy, who was His unselfish, faithful, and obedient servant and our loving friend and teacher.
