About three years ago our son, a boy of seventeen, made application for insurance, but to our surprise was refused. The doctor said the boy would never pass the examination, and that by the time he was twenty-five years of age he would be in a very bad condition. He stated that he was puzzled because of the lad's fine physical condition in every way but one. To satisfy the man who wrote the insurance he told us he would make another examination a week from that day. My son and I went home full of faith in the power of Truth to heal. Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 476): "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick." We studied this all the week and went back at the appointed time. After the second examination the doctor was so surprised he did not know what to say, for he could find no trace of the disease. The boy had to go through two more examinations to satisfy the company, but after the third examination the doctor pronounced him in first-class condition.

I shall never forget the experience I had when we went for the second examination. My son had just gone into the office for the test, and I tried to lift my thought to God and know no fear. When the thought came to me that the boy was in the presence of the great Physician, that He alone was the judge, and that He knew only His perfect child, it all seemed so clear, so real to me, that I knew the healing was complete. I was indeed grateful for the experience, which had a wonderful effect on the boy. It seemed to change his whole nature, for he expressed so much more love and good will.

I have two daughters, and they too love Christian Science. I know the children can never get away from the influence of this teaching and the peace it gives. If they neglect to study often, they become hungry and go back to their books again. We have had convincing proofs of the healing power of Christian Science, many times instantaneous healings, and I am trying to send out only the thought that uplifts all mankind. It is with a grateful heart that I send this testimony.
