I would probably have studied Christian Science sooner...

I would probably have studied Christian Science sooner had I thought I needed it physically, for I did not then recognize it as anything but a means of healing disease. My mother had been healed of a fever about twenty years before, and I thoroughly believed in the healing efficacy of Christian Science. I did not, however, understand it, for the very good reason that I had not taken the trouble to read Science and Health or any other Christian Science literature.

When my little girl was old enough to go to Sunday school, I saw very clearly that I must decide whether she should have Christian Science teaching or go to another Sunday school of which I had been a member. By this time I had gained enough understanding of Science to know that I would not be satisfied to have her taught in the old way, so I decided to take up the study of Christian Science in earnest and send her to that Sunday school. It is about seven years now since I began the study of this teaching, and my only regret is that I did not take it up a great deal sooner. It has proved a help in all times of need, restoring harmony in every case, whether physical illness or merely the every-day trials that seem to come to all housekeepers.

I am indeed grateful for the understanding of the one Mind that governs all things harmoniously. Through the application of this Science of Christianity, stomach trouble, coughs, colds, measles, and other minor diseases have been overcome. As a child and young girl I was never considered strong, but now, through my small understanding of the truth that sets one free, I am able to do whatever comes to me to do. I want also to express my appreciation for the Christian Science periodicals, which always come at the right time with helpful thoughts.—Lila V. Strong, Campbell, Cal.
